Airtightness testing
Airtightness testing available for buildings up to 1.500.000 m3 volume!
Proper insulation provides a efficient use of energy when constructed at the right way. But if you feel the wind blowing inside or unexpected drafts, generally there is an air leak in the construction. Uncontrolled air in-/exfiltration means mostly cold or heat loss. For example: In the summertime air-open constructions means high cooling costs.
Detection of air gaps is in this respect a valuable matter for you as a customer. We work for a lot of well-known advisories as well as our own national government and some foreign institutions, such as "Sustainable Energy Ireland" (www.sei.ei) and the National Building Assessors IE. See the images on the right side as they are some references of us. We are testing according to the EU-standards as EN 18329 or the Dutch NEN 2686 and the required ATTMA and UK TM23 guidelines. The test will be done due to the quality procedure of the Britisch Institue of Non Destructive Testing as we are aproved by BINDT. Air-tightness testing can be provided also with thermography or smoke which is the ideal combination to determine the air tightness with regard to quantity and location.
Testing in Cold rooms A specific application of air-thightness is used in the cold store industry. In case of temperature loss in e.g. cold rooms for keeping meat or fish, you can use thermography. A good example is apple repositories where oxygen quality must remain low. A small hole produces quickly a large energy loss. A thermal scan combined with a light under and/or overpressure in the space the imperfections are rapidly and simply to show. The smallest holes in the wall, cold bridges or fine cracks in the structures are traced, as well as damaged or missing heat insulations which cause heat leakages in constructions or piping.
